Train Game

We’ve had a lot of cold, snowy, icy weather this winter in Indiana.  After a while, you start to feel a little stir crazy being inside so much.  We play outside in the snow here & there, but that’s really not enough.  So the kids & I came up with a new game, using some toys in a different way.  We call it the “train game”.

First, we set up 2 sets of track, right beside each other.  We made sure that each track has the exact # of pieces, even though they’re not identical in how we set them up.

Then we put two trains at the starting point.

Train Game-7

The youngest player goes first, and you roll one die, moving your train along the same number of track of what you roll.

If you land on either piece of the hill you get to go to the next piece.

Train Game-23

Every time you roll a 1, the bridge either opens or closes.  If you get to the bridge and it’s closed, you have to wait until either player rolls a 1 to open it back up.

The first player to reach the finish line wins!  We’ve had so much fun playing our train game, and it’s definitely helped to keep our minds off of the weather.  🙂

Roxy + Marc

We’ve had a cold & snowy winter, more than it’s been the past few winters.  I’ve enjoyed being snowed in here & there, but I’m at the point where I’m dreaming of Spring and warmer weather.  Roxy contacted me after the last snow we had, wondering if it would be possible to do an engagement shoot in the snow.  We were able to throw a quick session together, and everything came together perfectly.  There was even just the right amount of snow falling, making it a little magical.  Their session made me happy that the cold weather is still here…for *just* a little longer  😉

The Strubingers

My third & final photo shoot with Heather & her family in 2013 🙂  Heather & Rachel planned this photo session as a gift for their husbands’ parents this past Christmas.  It almost didn’t happen because of the weather.  It was cold and misty, but it let up just enough for us to get some pictures outside.  I’m so glad it worked out, and that they were able to pull it off.

The Simpson Kids

I love these three.  When their mom contacted me to book their session, can I tell you I was more than a little excited? I’ve done 3 sessions with these kids so far, and each session has been more fun than the last.  Each of these kids has such a different personality, but they all mesh together so well.  I love the laughs, and all of the fun we have.

We ended this session with a dance off, and I’m seriously thinking of making it a requirement for all of my sessions from now on 😉

Arianne

I had the pleasure of photographing my cousin, Arianne, this past November.  Since she lives pretty far away from me, her mom & I planned it so that she would fly to stay with me for a few days, and then we would bring her to our family’s Thanksgiving where she would go back home with her family.  Everything went perfectly as planned…except it was *freezing* cold! The previous November, we barely had to wear coats in Indiana, but this year it got down in the 20’s.  Arianne was a trooper though, and I still managed to get well over twice as many shots as I usually do.
